Tooth Extractions in Texas
Painless tooth extractions
At Medico M.D we will do everything we can to save your existing tooth, but sometimes the damage may be too far gone. In cases where extraction is the only option, we will strive to make the process quick and most importantly as painless as possible.
The anesthetic will be applied to the affected tooth, and the dentist can loosen and remove it with forceps. In rare cases, where we cannot remove it, a surgical extraction may be done instead.
We will undergo surgical extraction if the following occurs:
- The tooth has broken off at the gum line
- The tooth hasn’t come in yet
- The tooth has specifically large or curved roots
How do I know if my tooth needs to be removed?
There are numerous reasons why a tooth may need to be removed. For example, if the tooth is severely damaged whether due to an accident or tooth decay. Other reasons can include a bacterial infection of the tooth. Sometimes existing teeth are preventing other teeth from coming in or you are getting braces and have a tooth that is crowding out others.
Your dentist will perform a thorough exam to determine if a tooth extraction is needed.
Complete wisdom teeth removal
Some of the most common forms of tooth extraction come from the removal of wisdom teeth.
Due to a shortening in the jaw, many people have wisdom teeth that become impacted, push against the existing teeth, or push in crookedly.
All of these can cause pain and if left untreated, can become infected and cause further dental issues. Medico M.D. can remove troublesome wisdom teeth. In cases where we need to remove all of the teeth, we recommend undergoing general anesthesia. The process is quick and painless.
